WE ARE acutely aware of the pain and challenge of an eating disorder and we know the decision to enter treatment is one that requires great courage.

OLIVER-PYATT CENTERS BELIEVES a small, intimate environment is most effective for the treatment of eating disorders. Because of this, we have a limited number of spots so it is important to start the admission process early.

We are committed to working with you to make treatment possible. Our Vice President of Admissions, Dr. Melissa Orshan Spann, is here to assist you and your family, to answer any questions or concerns you may have and to serve as a guide through the process of entering treatment. Please call Melissa at 866.511.HEAL(4325); she will arrange a phone interview and advise you on next steps.

You will be asked to complete our admissions packet, beginning with the application and questionnaire. Once submitted, your questionnaire will be reviewed, and with your permission, we will contact your outpatient treatment professionals. Melissa will then assist you with the timing of your medical evaluation, which is required before entering our program, and an intake assessment will be scheduled. This assessment will take place with one of our clinicians via phone, within two weeks of admission date, and will last 60-90 minutes.

At Oliver-Pyatt Centers, our goal is to help make treatment accessible and we are committed to working with you to access care. Oliver-Pyatt Centers is in network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Multiplan, Humana, Consolidated Health Plans (aka CHP) and at times can secure single case agreements with others.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS TO VERIFY MY INSURANCE?

Oliver-Pyatt Centers will verify your insurance prior to treatment and we will do everything we can to help you secure coverage. To discuss your particular plan, please speak to the Admissions team.

WILL I BE ABLE TO BRING MY CELL PHONE?

Yes, you are able to use your cell phone and laptop or tablet in the apartments. You will not have open access to your phone or email throughout the day; however, your family will always be able to reach you. For more information, please speak to the Admissions team.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME?

Please feel free to bring anything you use in your normal routine to get ready for your day. Below are some recommended items. Plan for daily outings such as parks, shopping, movie theaters, beach, zoo, and more.

  • Required: Three days’ worth of medications and/or vitamins in clearly labeled, original bottles (we will assist with refills when needed)

  • Comfortable clothing, including: sweaters | sleepwear | yoga clothes | sneakers, sandals, shoes | undergarments, socks

  • Toiletries, including: toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss | brush, comb, hairstyling appliances (i.e., blow dryer, hair iron) | shaving supplies | makeup | nail clippers, nail file

  • Other, including: cell phone and charger | laptop and charger | credit and/or debit card | insurance card | driver’s license and/or passport

HOW DO I ARRANGE MY TRAVEL TO OLIVER-PYATT CENTERS?

Schedule your arrival to Miami International Airport (MIA) for no later than 1:00 pm. An Oliver-Pyatt Centers team member (holding a sign with your name on it) will be there to greet you in baggage claim and bring you to the Center.

HOW LONG SHOULD MY FAMILY STAY IN TOWN?

If your family accompanies you to Oliver-Pyatt Centers, they should plan to stay until they’ve attended a family roadmap meeting. Please speak to the Admissions team to determine when the meeting will be.
