Casa Verde is Oliver-Pyatt Center’s second house, directly next door to Casa Rosada, having opened in 2011. In Casa Verde we approach you as a human being first, unique in your challenges and gifts and unique in your journey to recovery. The entire team works together to create an effective treatment experience for each patient. With no more than 12 patients, Clinical Director Dr. Benaaz Russell oversees the Verde team of clinicians that are treating the women, while maintaining a close relationship with each of the 12 women. Embedded in our culture is a philosophy of collaboration – among our team members and with our patients’ outpatient providers. Casa Verde’s experienced multidisciplinary team takes a holistic approach to get our patients on the path to long-term health and sustained recovery.
While Oliver-Pyatt Centers programming and care is consistent in all three of our women’s casas, there may be clinical, insurance or availability factors that will guide our staff in matching our women in the right house for them.
Recently, I read there is a big difference between a human being and being human. Eating disorders impact one’s ability to connect with self and others, and being human. Only through our connections with others do we truly connect with ourselves. When you are in Casa Verde with me, the team and the other clients, healing begins with authentic, genuine and intimate connections. The beauty, pain, love, sorrow, pride and joy in all relationships are realized through these connections.
As Clinical Director, I’m fortunate to experience the awe-inspiring resilience of humanity on a daily basis. It is a privilege to work with you on your journey through recovery and re-discovery of human connections. When you walk through our doors you are held each step of the way with respect, compassion and dignity; each step toward your recovery is a collaborative effort. I will work with you and your family to discover your individual path of recovery. A desire to make real connections and have meaningful relationships is a key ingredient for successful recovery, and the best part of being human. I look forward to being a part of that when you are here with us. While Oliver-Pyatt Centers programming and care is consistent in all three of our women’s casas, there may be clinical, insurance or availability factors that will guide our staff in matching our women in the right house for them.
The most meaningful thing at Oliver-Pyatt Centers was all of the connections I made. I was truly loved and supported by all of the staff in Casa Verde, recovery coaches and clients.
